Recently in May 2025 I came back to extensively using Visual Studio Code to finally get this site a bit more functional and easy to update. Frankly I gotta say that VSCode, especially after learning some basic tricks, is really nice to use. It boots up quickly, it never lost any of my progress after exiting and Prettier extension almost always add a fair amount of elegant whitespaces.
One of key features that Microsoft pushes really hard in VSCode are the autofill (that shows up all the time anytime I type) and Copilot chat that is easier to ignore and decently helpful. To be completely honest, even though I am aware that any use of AI features are not exactly fair or environmentally friendly, but hell I'm weak, that saves so much time of plowing through all sorts of documentations and forums, let alone typing entire tags and classes, although closing up html tags is not precise yet. I mean no wonder why so many people crave AI, when it starts to be useful, there's no going back.
I personally just hope those autocompletion hints and purely technical requests are not as energy demanding as generating stupid media slop.
For those whose never used VSCode, by default the autofill appears almost instantaneously as a slightly tinted hint text when next to the place you type something and you can accept it by clickink Tab or reject it by clicking anything else.
That being said, here are some hints of the VSCode autofill that are a bit surprising and less than useful:
Autofilled to-do list
I actually have plans to make some Lankarta fictional maps, but never imagined them in eighth dimension. It also confirms that AI get so powerful, that it make human like mistakes when counting 1 to 8.
Music update log autofilled
Rammstein was never mentioned in my music log, but it's a consistent direction from Pearl Jam and Kyle Gordon.
Songs to play in New Year Day
ABBA wasn't mentioned on my list too, but I listened some songs at that time, maybe my Windows laptop spies my Android phone
Trip via Germany that I don't remember
I mentioned trips to Bulgaria and Greece via Hungary, not Germany, it doesn't make sense when you start from Poland.
Trip to famous German city of Prague
AI generated update log
It almost knows exactly what I've been doing so far...
VSCode gives me hint to be a better person
After all of this, it told me to reconsider my life choices.
