Hasta Mañana - once heard in the radio in the morning, stuck in a head for the rest of the day!

ABBA - Hasta Manana ♫
I actually have never heard that song before this December while it was playing on some classic radio station, but the first time I heard it, I was humming all day. I was busy so I didn't paid much attention to the lyrics other than 'Hasta Manana', but when I got home I realized how interesting the whole concept of this song is. It supposed to compete on Eurovision instead of Waterloo song and was written in somewhere in the Christmas season in 1973 on Canary Islands. I guess that's why some radio host decide to play it in December which I'm very thankful!

Anna Jantar - Hasta Manana - year 1975 ♫
When I was searching 'Hasta Manana' song in youtube music the first results was actually the Polish version sung by Anna Jantar to which she added a lovely spin about Barcelona! Apparently this song was covered in multiple languages like Swedish and German, but giving my Polishness bias (a.k.a. just knowing the language) makes it my favourite cover! It's also worth noting that Anna Jantar was basically a superstar in 1970's and many of her songs are household names like 'Tyle słońca w całym mieście' - 'So much sun in the whole town'.

De Su - Kto Wie ♫
It's one of those modern type of christmas songs that reliably jam most radio stations in Poland for weeks before the season since its release in 2000. The band is not very well known, but this song is ubiquitous. The title means 'Who Knows' and the lyrics are about who knows if around the corner are standing God with the angels and whether they are fulfilling the dreams. Who knows!

Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas ♫
I featured this staple christmas song exactly year ago and I do it again, but sadly the remarkably talented singer passed away a couple days ago, at least this song will live forever
Edyta Bartosiewicz - Zegar - this song is from 1995 and is still played in various radio stations in Poland to the point I decided to research it more closely. You see, this song is one year older than me and I bet every kid in 2000's heard that song in a radio and didn't think about it much, but just now I realized how much of a hit it was in the 90's. Those electronic beeps and the music video was so innovative back then, even though Edyta allegedly didn't like that song at first, as she found the lyrics too silly. The song's title means 'Clock', you can check out the english lyrics here, but after all those years it can be said that this 'Clock' is timeless.

Urszula - Dandelions, Kites, Wind...
I just happened to be on a regional concert and heard this song, although it was a faster cover by a rock band Budka Suflera. The original version is from 1983 and it reminds nostalgic and beautiful times before the 1984. Apparently English version also exist, but just listen to it in Polish, the world with only one language would be so much less interesting ;)

DJ Pauly D - WYD After♫
Youtube blessed me again, while looking for examples of weird jazz, I stumbled upon this song at the playlist "rare jazz". This song is actually popular, yet I've never heard of it before, but instantly caught my attention without looking at the numbers
