Not Just Maps

Not everything revolves around maps (said no one ever because that's obvious for anyone else) and I used to create some drawings with objects other than blobs, rectangles and lines. I don't have that many of good and archived pictures, and I can't draw people very well, that's why I never complete anything worth watching.

Moreover, the images need a bit of color adjusting, as they were often drawn with light pencil, the objects are very pale and hardly visible, so it'll take me a while to put them here. That's also the reason why I want to publish them here in the first place, I want to experiment with photo correction and showing off my results will motivate me, especially when some online travelers will cheer me up, vanity sometimes work.

One more thing to kick start this page is to finally make working responsive navbar with dropdowns and such, I was thinking about making subnavbar for each category pages as a modern spin to nostalgia of having multiple toolbars in the browser lol.

Another idea that want to implement initially on this site is a comparison slider of two images on top of each other, you know the ones, just to show how the picture changed when colors were upgraded.

Surprised Pikachu with the map
I have many of these scribbles on notebooks. They don't necessarily feature maps, but stuff related to geography like roads, buildings or other locations were always present in my ''art''.

Busy road and bridge above small creek in colorful rural area Drawing

Busy road in rural area
As you can see, it's made by a child, I mean me as a child, but who cares, that's my site. I really like how the colors of those fields look so alive and super colorful on the screen in comparison to original drawing which is very pale. It's all thanks to oversaturation made with Gimp

City skyline
I can't tell whether that tallest building actually goes high above the clouds or it's just a unerased pencil lines.

Sketches in the notebook
There is a reason why don't just put all my scans and photos of my whack pen doodles and that is visibility and my experiments with color correction. That's an example of a photo of a sketch in the notebook before and after altering the exposure with Gimp.

drawing of a bilboard with the logo of cartoon network

Cartoon Network ad
Umm, what is going on here? Well, it was about year 2006 I guess, Cartoon Network that I watched religiously at the time changed its logo from the checkboard to those two C and N letters. I really like logos so I tried to redraw it, in the middle of the blank paper. Then I had an idea for a silly drawing that would feature father of Cramp Twins from Cartoon Network. So I added bilboard, the logo is not centered on it to make place for the character next to a car that was pooped by a bird on a parking lot of Hypernova supermarket. What is Hypernova? It used to be the largest hipermarket in Zamość by the time. Why this car doesn't have a tyre? Because it's a futuristic floating car that I was drawing for a while because I watched 'Back To The Future" and I thought 4 of those skateboards could easily hold the weight of a car. Why I'm bringing this childish nonsense at all? Because I'm kinda amazed how much silly detailed stuff I remember looking at my previous drawings, that makes me think that memories of kids might be very vivid and impactful, which really makes me wonder what kind of memories my 1 year old baby will have in the future, not from now, but from consious child future that is approaching fast.

Sketches on a margin of a notebook
Those are super tiny pieces of art my friends, drawn with the pen, about 4.5 to 3 centimeters or 1.5 to 1 inch each, they are so beautiful I could sell them as post stamps lol.

drawing of a bunch of houses next to a big city during the snow blizzard

Suburbia during the snow blizzard
The 'Curves' tool in Gimp do wonders, as a thumbnail that scan looked almost completely white, only after the adjustment I saw that the snow is falling in this silly picture.
